Getting A Hug And Saying Things Are Okay Are The Opposites Of What I Can Get Right Now

Begun at the rise of the pandemic and intermittently completed almost a year later (unfortunately, still in a pandemic), GAH&STAOATOOWICGRN is a piece centered around remembering, nostalgia, and wanting more.
Utilizing old imagery and repurposing it, GAH&STAOATOOWICGRN questions the way we look at our memories, not as something as truthful, but something idealized, sparkly, and often times, unreal.
It leaves us in a condition depleted of an imaginary force—a constant state of not being able to distinguish a “before”, blurring the possibility of an after. It is a longing that can be so simple but equally as heartbreaking.
